About the Programme

Built to close the gap between talent and opportunity.

The Decagon Undergraduate Honors Program exists because Nigeria has no shortage of brilliant young people — only a shortage of structures that get them into the rooms where they belong.

Our Mission

Activate Nigeria's most promising students.

We identify students who have demonstrated academic excellence — JAMB 250 and above — and remove the single barrier standing between them and a university education: cost. We fund their tuition, surround them with a leadership development programme, and connect them to a network of professionals and institutions that accelerates their trajectory from admission to career.

How It Started

A problem Chika Nwobi refused to accept.

Decagon was founded by Chika Nwobi, CEO of Decagon Institute — Nigeria's leading software engineering training programme. After years of watching talented young Nigerians arrive at Decagon Institute underprepared — not because they lacked ability, but because the pipeline from secondary school to skilled employment was broken — Chika set out to fix the entry point. The Undergraduate Honors Program is that fix: a structured, accountable scholarship that begins at university admission and ends at graduation.

"Africa does not have a talent shortage. It has a talent activation and access gap, and Nigeria is where we close it first."

What We Do

More than a scholarship.

Full tuition funding

We cover tuition fees for the full duration of a scholar's undergraduate degree — not a one-semester grant, not a partial bursary.

Leadership development

Scholars participate in a structured programme that builds professional skills, critical thinking, and the habits of high performers.

University partnerships

We work directly with partner universities to ensure scholars are enrolled, supported, and progressing. The institution is accountable to us, and we are accountable to donors.

Career pipeline

Graduates enter a network connected to Decagon Institute's employer relationships — giving them a head start in Nigeria's most competitive industries.

Partner Universities

Where our scholars study.

We partner with accredited private universities that meet our standards for academic quality, student support, and institutional accountability. Our current partners are:

1

Christopher University

Mowe, Ogun State

2

Landmark University

Omu-Aran, Kwara State

3

Covenant University

Ota, Ogun State

We are actively expanding our university partnerships. If you represent an accredited institution, contact us.

What We Stand For

The principles that guide every decision.

Merit, not luck

Scholars are selected on demonstrated academic performance. A JAMB score of 250+ is the baseline — not a guarantee, but the starting point.

Accountability over charity

This is not a handout programme. Funds are disbursed against verified attendance. Scholars are expected to perform. Donors receive reports.

Long-term thinking

We measure success in decades, not semesters. A scholar who graduates, enters the workforce, and mentors the next generation is the return we are building toward.

Transparency

Every naira is traceable. Every scholar is named. Every outcome is reported. We hold ourselves to the same standard we hold our scholars.
