Who qualifies?
The Decagon scholarship is merit-based and need-aware. You must meet all three criteria.
JAMB score of 250 or above
Your UTME result is the entry point. A score of 250 or higher demonstrates the academic standard the programme requires.
Financial need
The scholarship exists because cost, not ability, is the barrier. You must demonstrate that tuition is genuinely out of reach for your family.
Character and commitment
We look for students who are serious, coachable, and ready to represent the programme. Academic results matter; so does who you are.
Nigerian citizenship is required. Applications are open to candidates seeking admission to one of our partner universities.
What the programme includes
The Decagon Honors Program is run by Decagon Services Limited. Decagon Foundation provides scholarships in collaboration with them. The programme has six parts.

Scholars are placed at accredited private universities. Admission is confirmed before funding is committed. Fees are paid directly to the institution each semester.
Leadership training and empowerment
All scholars take part in structured leadership development throughout their degree. This runs alongside your academic programme, not instead of it.
Career Accelerator Track
A four-year programme delivered through an online learning platform. Every semester, scholars complete a mandatory Core course covering professionalism, critical thinking, business writing, project management, ethical AI, and leadership. Alongside the Core, each scholar chooses one elective track: Tech, Design, Growth and Digital Marketing, or Entrepreneurship.
Decagon Honours Community
Open to scholars from Year 3. Members receive a verified digital badge, an official Decagon Scholar status on LinkedIn, and access to peer groups and monthly fireside chats with industry leaders.
Career mentorship
Scholars are connected with mentors from Nigeria's professional and business community. Mentorship is structured and runs throughout the programme.
Access to opportunities
A dedicated portal gives scholars access to volunteer roles, vacation jobs, freelance work, internships, and paid and unpaid projects.
How the programme works
Apply online
Complete the application form. You will need your JAMB score, WAEC results, and a short personal statement.
Assessment
Shortlisted candidates go through a structured assessment covering academic review, financial verification, and a brief interview.
Placement
Successful scholars are matched to a partner university based on course preference and availability. Admission is confirmed before funding is committed.
Funding and onboarding
Your tuition is paid directly to the university. You attend a scholar orientation and begin the Career Accelerator Track alongside your degree.
Through to graduation
Funding continues each semester against verified attendance. From Year 3, you join the Honours Community and gain access to the opportunities portal.

Funding is renewed each academic year against verified attendance and satisfactory academic progress. The Career Accelerator Track, community membership, and mentorship run alongside your degree for all four years.
